It was all too easy for Sligo IT at Gurteen yesterday -- with a 14 point victory over IT Tralee.
Sligo had total control of the first half -- despite leading by only 0-8 to 0-5 at the break -- and were by far the better team in all. Danny Cummins was in flying form, with eight points earning him man of the match.
Leading by 0-7 to 0-1 by the seventh minute, Sligo eased off and missed a penalty in injury-time through Seamus Ryder. In the second half Tralee conceded seven scores before hitting their first of the half, from Damien Kelly, and their cause was not helped when Eoin Murray was dismissed for a second yellow card in the 38th minute. Sligo sub Martin Dunne recorded the game's only goal late in the tie.
