Ryan leads Tipperary charge

TJ Ryan was the star of the show as Tipperary cruised into the semi-finals with a comfortable win at Kilmallock.
Corner-forward Ryan bagged six points and laid on a goal for Michael Quinlivan.
Quickfire points from Ryan, Quinlivan and Philip Quirke helped Tipp into a 0-4 to 0-1 lead. The visitors pulled further away when Ryan found Quinlivan unmarked behind the Limerick rearguard and the full-forward gave 'keeper David Condron no chance.
Limerick were denied a quick response when Gearoid Slattery pulled off the first of three wonder-saves, and Tipp led 1-6 to 0-3 at the break.
Limerick started the second half brightly, but Slattery's heroics kept them at bay and despite the efforts of Dara Treacy and sub Dean Lillis, Tipp won comfortably.
