Roscommon breezed into the fourth round of the All-Ireland football qualifiers after a facile 0-16 to 0-5 win over a toothless Cavan side at Breffni Park.

Roscommon beat Cavan by just two points when the sides met in an entertaining Division Three final back in May but today was much more one-sided.

The opening 35 minutes was arguably the worst of the championship so far as the Rossies led by 0-3 to 0-2 at the break having hit seven wides.

Roscommon hit six points in the opening 13 minutes of the second half and eight without reply to put the game to bed.

Cavan ended with just five points for their efforts and exit the championship very tamely.
