'Rock take title

Blackrock 1-18
Naomh Colum Cille 0-9

All-Ireland JHC final

Limerick side Blackrock proved too classy for Tyrone champions Naomh Colum Cille at Croke Park last night.

Ritchie McCarthy swung over a couple of spectacular long-range scores and there were points from Kevin Palmer and Aidan Murphy as the Limerick men eased into control under lights at headquarters. The Tyrone champions responded with points from Niall O'Neill and Ryan O'Neill, but Murphy's 13th-minute goal earned a 1-9 to 0-4 interval lead for Blackrock.

McCarthy's accuracy continued in the second half, and while Niall O'Neill pulled back some points, the Tyrone men never looked like causing an upset.

Scorers -- Blackrock: R McCarthy 0-7 (3f), A Murphy 1-1, R McCarthy, K Palmer, R O'Shaughnessy 0-2 each, B Moloney, S Hennessy, D Moloney, N Moloney 0-1 each.
