Under what was proposed by the Dublin clubs, the All-Ireland quarter-finals would have fallen along these lines:
Meath v Kerry,
Tyrone v Roscommon.
(Losers of ) Meath/Kerry v Down/Kildare/Dublin/Cork;
(Losers of ) Tyrone/Roscommon v Down/Kildare/Dublin/Cork.
Given the compression of July on the calendar and the probable desire to give beaten provincial finalists more than six/seven days' recovery, it would push at least two rounds of the championship well into August.
Round 5 and the All-Ireland Phase 1 qualifiers could probably be played on the same weekend, with Phase 2 taking place a week later. A similar system is used to determine the top eight in the AFL.
