Philly McMahon facing prospect of one-match ban for Donaghy clash after review completed

Dublin defender Philly McMahon is facing a potential one-match ban for an incident involving Kerry captain Kieran Donaghy in last Sunday's All-Ireland SFC final.
TV cameras show McMahon's hand making contact with Donaghy's face as he tackled him near the Dublin goalmouth.
However McMahon has stressed that there was no intent in his actions and while accepting the incident looked bad on TV, he has firmly rejected suggestions of foul play.
The GAA's Competition Controls Committee (CCCC) has now completed a review of the incident. A charge against McMahon (left) could come under a Category Three infraction that covers behaviour deemed to be dangerous to an opponent.
If a proposed charge was to stick, McMahon would miss Dublin's opening league game against Kerry next spring.
Meanwhile John Cleary is the firm favourite to replace Brian Cuthbert as Cork football manager after re-entering the race.
