O'Sullivan lifts Killorglin
IS Killorglin 1-10
West Clare Cols 1-7
A powerful second-half display paved the way for Intermediate School Killorglin to join four other Kerry teams in the last eight.
Killorglin had the opening point after 10 minutes at Croagh, but they were rocked by a magnificent goal by Jack Scanlon which edged West Clare Colleges in front.
Only a point separated them, 1-4 to 1-3, in favour of Killorglin at half-time, with Gary O'Sullivan getting the Kerry goal.
Playing only their second game ever, West Clare Colleges played well, but the greater experience of the Kerry side was crucial.
Gavin Nolan was top scorer for Killorglin with five points and he and O'Sullivan posed the major threat to the Clare defence, whose 'keeper Kevin Pender was superb.
