AS doubles go, it's quite an achievement. Former Mayo and Louth footballer, Dan O'Neill, was recently inducted into the Mayo Hall of Fame, having been similarly honoured by the Wee County in 2001.
Dan, who wrote his autobiography 'Divided Loyalties' in 2008, won National League and Connacht championship medals with his native Mayo in 1954-55 before winning an All-Ireland medal with Louth in 1957.
He wouldn't have thought back then that Louth would be waiting (officially at least) for their next Leinster title in 2011 or that Mayo's search for the All-Ireland would still be ongoing.
Still, Mayo have their first Taoiseach in Enda Kenny and Louth manager Peter Fitzpatrick is in the Dail, so maybe things are changing west and east.
