Elphin sent defending champions Castlerea St Kevin's crashing at Dr Hyde Park.

Castlerea edged a dour first half 0-4 to 0-3 but Elphin were fired up by Paddy O'Connor's 42nd-minute penalty.

Elphin goalkeeper Ronan Collins also made a match-winning save at the death.

Frankie Dolan rolled back the years with a seven-point haul to help St Brigid's prevail.

The winners were narrowly ahead at the break, 0-8 to 0-7, and two key Dolan points in the second half and his scoring pass for Conor McHugh's goal helped see off St Faithleach's.
