Micheál McDermott's Clare side secured a runaway victory over a hapless Kilkenny in Miltown Malbay.
The outcome was predictable as early as the first minute, when Clare full-forward Cathal O'Connor shot to the Kilkenny net from close range.
The hosts led by 3-6 to 0-1 at the break, with the Cats' only score coming from a Graham Lawlor free in the 31st minute.
O'Connor found the net once more in the 19th minute, while wing-forward Shane Brennan added another in injury-time.
After the break, Kilkenny did manage a goal of their own through Michael Duggan.
But it was to be their final score as Clare went on the rampage with two further second-half goals with Alan Clohessy and Brennan again both on target.
