Meath referee David Gough was targeted by a number of fans as he left the pitch after Dublin's 0-22 to 2-14 victory over Kerry at Croke Park this afternoon.
Former Kerry great Pat Spillane lauded the man in black after his performance in the game but obviously his opinion wasn't shared by others.
Gough was pelted with match programmes and other items as he left the field in an ugly incident that will no doubt tarnish one of the best games in recent years.
The treatment of Gough was witnessed by many people, who voiced their displeasure at a minority of fans who targeted the ref.
