Peadair O Griofa was Galway's star performer with five second-half points, as the Westerners booked a semi-final date with either Armagh or Cork, who face off in the last of the quarter-finals at Croke Park this afternoon.

The sides were tied at 0-3 apiece at the interval. Longford then pushed 1-5 to 0-5 ahead at the end of the third quarter, thanks to a Robbie Smith goal, but O Griofa landed four unanswered points late on to ensure a semi-final date for the Tribesmen.
