My inter-county career is over: Donegal’s Kevin Cassidy

THE row between Donegal boss Jim McGuinness and defender Kevin Cassidy has convinced the All-Star GAA footballer that he has played his last inter-county game.

Cassidy was s dropped from the Donegal senior panel earlier this week after at his participation in a newly-published book, This Is Our Year, and the details he revealed in it about the Donegal camp.



The book - by Fermanagh journalist Declan Bogue - features the perspectives of ten players from Ulster counties, including Cassidy.



McGuinness held a meeting with Cassidy on Tuesday before confirmation came through that the star player had been ‘'released from the panel with immediate effect'’.



It appears that Cassidy breached the rule when discussing Donegal's training methods and preparations for their Championship matches this summer.







Today the player issued a statement conceding that his inter-county career was finished.
