THIS match added further weight to the truism that there's no such thing as an easy game.

Jordanstown were hot favourites but -- just like they did last year -- the University of Limerick proved they're better than many give them credit for in a match they could have won.

After a shaky start, UL took control midway through the first half to score 1-5 without reply, as corner-forward David Conway terrorised the UUJ defence and John O'Rourke scored a smashing goal.

UUJ were rattled and still hadn't recovered their composure by the early stages of the second half, as they kicked wide after wide and UL comfortably defended a three-point lead.

However, Diarmuid McNulty made the most of a fortunate break of the ball to smash home a goal that drew Jordanstown level and, although UL stuck doggedly to the task, it wasn't to be for the Limerick side.
