KEALIN McANERIAN'S last-minute point gave Castleknock Community College the slimmest of victories over Carlow CBS at Dr Cullen Park.

While McAnerian's effort was the clincher, a 39th-minute goal from full-forward Mark Prunty was the game's most vital score, giving the visitors a 1-5 to 0-6 lead.

The goal came at a stage when Carlow CBS had assumed the lead for the only time through a fine 35th-minute point from full-forward Adam Murphy (0-6 to 0-5).

It was all square at the break, but Castleknock were that little bit slicker in attack, adapting better to the heavy conditions and having a greater spread of scorers.

Although Carlow managed to draw level through Evan O'Carroll in the 56th minute, McAnerian had the final say.
