Martin Breheny: McEneaney ideal man for review commitee

Between playing for Monaghan, managing them jointly with Sean McCague and, later, on his own, moving on to manage Louth and returning to take charge of his native county for the last two years, Eamonn McEneaney seems to have been a near-permanent fixture on the inter-county fields for over 30 years -- but he has now decided to step back and watch from behind the wire.

He didn't always enjoy the best of luck in management, certainly not with Monaghan, who were most unfortunate to be relegated this year and to lose to Down in the Ulster semi-final.

McEneaney deserves his break from management, but his talents shouldn't go untapped.

He possesses vast experience of all aspects of the GAA and has always brought an intelligent, thoughtful dimension to his assessments.

Seems to me like an ideal man to have aboard the football review group.
