Martin Breheny: Kennelly goes radio gaga
TADHG Kennelly told Melbourne radio station SEN that Ireland would "run away with it" if the All-Australian team (the equivalent of the GAA All Stars) had been selected for the International Rules series.
Instead, Australia have opted for a horses-for-courses policy, with only two All-Australian players aboard.
"You pick teams and players who are going to match the game. That's what's been good about it because it makes for an even contest," he said.
Kennelly also told SEN that only a handful of Ireland's best players were missing the series.
Really? There are only two (Stephen Cluxton and Kieran Donaghy) from the All-Ireland finalists, two from Ulster champions Donegal (Michael Murphy and Karl Lacey) and none from the Mayo team that won the Connacht title.
