Lawlor hits out at Dempsey

FORMER Laois footballer Michael Lawlor has ramped up the pressure on Sean Dempsey's management with a stinging criticism of the county's 15- point league defeat by Donegal, writes COLM KEYS.
In his column for a weekly newspaper, Lawlor maintains that Laois were "boxing way out of their league" and that only about four players were up for the challenge in Donegal.
"The rest are either not good enough or need to be taken aside and told what is required to be an inter-county footballer," he wrote.
"I think the men on the line have a lot to answer for as there are real difficulties ahead for Laois. We need those thirtysomethings back involved because in another year or two, it's over for them.
"I also don't think it would be a bad idea to have a Portlaoise selector involved, they are the biggest club in Laois and we need them on board."
