Queen's dominated the opening half and led 1-7 to 0-5 at the break thanks in part to Sean O'Neill's opportunist goal following a goalkeeping error.

The third quarter saw UUJ in complete control. Points flowed from Conor McManus, Ciaran McGinley and Clarke to leave the the sides level entering the final quarter. Queen's regained the lead but a Clarke penalty goal put UUJ ahead for the first time.

However, it lasted just a minute. Queen's swept upfield and Sean O'Neill pounced on another error to goal and regain the lead for Queen's. They lost and regained the lead before, in a hectic finish, McManus pointed to level it and Clarke sent the ball over as UUJ advanced.
