The official Kildare GAA twitter account has apologised after posting an insulting tweet during the county's facile victory over Laois last night.

Laois led the game by a point at the break and had the aid of the wind in the second half but Kildare left Tomás Ó Flatharta's team shellshocked in the second half as goals from Eamonn Callaghan, Cathal McNally and Eoghan O'Flaherty saw the Lilies cruise to a 3-18 to 1-11 win.

During the second half onslaught, Kildare's official Twitter account posted: “Ambulance leaves Tullamore with Laois inside”.

The tweet was subsequently deleted and an apology was posted on the same account this morning.

Whether they will be tweeting in the same vain when they meet Dublin in a fortnight's time remains to be seen.
