Kieran McGeeney will remain in charge of the Armagh footballers in 2017.
The 44-year-old's extension was ratified at a county board meeting last night with Aidan O'Rourke staying on as assistant boss.
He will not be in charge of the under-21 side with Peter McDonnell taking over the reins.
The Orchard County exited the championship with defeat to Laois in Round One of the qualifiers, having been beaten by Cavan in the Ulster championship.
They were beaten in Round Two of the qualifiers in 2015 by Galway.
