Kerry stalwart Paul Galvin has retired from inter-county football for the second time following today's defeat against Clare in the McGrath Cup at Fitzgerald stadium.

Galvin made a dramatic return to the Kerry panel in March last year after previously retiring 13 months before that but following his marriage to Today FM’s Louise Duffy on New Year's Eve, this time he will hang up the boots for good as he moves back to Dublin.

“Paul won’t be back. He is finished up. He got married, is moving back to Dublin," said Fitzmaurice today.

The 36-year-old has won four All Irelands as well as three All Stars throughout his lengthy career and was named Footballer of the Year in 2009.
