Kennedy strike grabs glory for Mohill
Mohill 1-4 Glencar/M'hamilton 0-6
Ronan Kennedy was the toast of Mohill as his opportunist extra-time goal clinched an unlikely victory over a stunned Glencar/Manorhamilton who looked certain for victory in this dramatic replay at Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada.
In a poor game which failed to ignite Ronan Flynn opened the scoring for Glencar/Manor with a point from play after two minutes, with Keith Beirne replying for Mohill four minutes later.
Glencar/Manor had the better of the exchanges for the remainder of a forgettable first half after which they led 0-3 to 0-2.
Mohill centre-back Ronan Gallagher levelled matters three minutes into the resumption and his side took the lead for the first time one minute later through a Beirne point.
Glencar/Manor responded with a Cormac Dolan free in the 36th minute, and a Paddy Maguire point from play three minutes later put them in front.
When Adrian Coal put two points between the sides with less than a minute remaining Glencar/Manor had victory in sight.
But just when it looked all over for Mohill, Gallagher gained possession 20 metres out and with the final kick of the game scored the goal that gave his side a famous victory, and their first county title since 2006.
