Kelly sets tone for Brendan's

st Brendan's 5-10, Colaiste Na Sceilge 1-8

St Brendan's put a gutsy Colaiste Na Sceilge side to the sword in Cromane to book their place in the quarter-finals.

The underdogs looked capable of causing a shock as they led at the end of the opening quarter thanks to some excellent midfield work by Kieran O'Driscoll.

But once Gavin Kelly struck for St Brendan's opening goal in the 16th minute, the writing was on the wall for Na Sceilge.

The St Brendan's attack put together some mesmerising passing moves and two further goals before half-time, a 20th-minute Bryan O'Shea penalty and a 27th-minute strike from Gavin O'Shea, had them flying.

Three quick Bryan O'Shea points and goals from Conor Keane and Gavin Kelly put St Brendan's 5-7 to 0-7 ahead by the 47th minute and the closing stages were purely academic.
