Tipperary football boss Liam Kearns has questioned the scheduling of the McGrath Cup, with his side down to play twice in a matter of days.

Tipp face Kerry on Sunday and Cork on Wednesday night and Kearns would like more time between games.

"If the Munster Council want the McGrath Cup to be taken seriously, they have to think about equality as well," he said. "Two teams in each group have two games in four days and the other two have two games in seven days. I'm posing the question, why?"

Kearns also confirmed that Paddy Codd will play this weekend, having missed the 2016 season.

Laois have handed senior debuts to James Kelly, Eoin George, Cormac Murphy and Brian Daly for Sunday's O'Byrne Cup clash with DIT. Laois' Walsh Cup clash with NUI Galway has been moved to Rathdowney.
