Joyce finds range for Tribesmen

Holders Galway qualified for the final against Mayo, despite an indifferent display at Moycullen yesterday.
Nicky Joyce kicked six points during a superb opening half for the Tribesmen and they were well on their way to victory when they led by 1-10 to 0-3 at the break.
However, their second-half display against a slight wind was poor and the students came storming back, largely due to the accuracy of Donegal's Stephen Griffin and former Mayo minor captain Aidan Campbell.
Griffin kicked three frees without reply in the opening six minutes of the second half for GMIT, but they never got within five points and Galway sub Paddy Kennedy tacked on a brace of points to ensure the holders advanced to the decider.
