Horgan class pivotal

Col Chriost Ri 1-14
St Fachtna's 1-10

Colaiste Chriost Ri produced a strong finish in Cloughduv to book their place in the quarter-finals.

Needing only a draw to progress, the Cork city lads looked well placed to advance when leading by 0-12 to 0-6 with 16 minutes left, but a spirited fightback from St Fachtna's, underpinned by a Brian O'Driscoll penalty, put them 1-10 to 0-12 ahead.

They could not power on from there, though, and a goal from substitute Ciaran Dalton and points from Conor Horgan and Luke Connolly ensured that Colaiste Chriost Ri took the spoils.

For most of the game, they looked far superior to their west Cork opponents, with Horgan and Connolly both finding the target on multiple occasions as their opponents relied far too heavily on O'Driscoll.
