WICKLOW right full-forward Tony Hannon's tally of 1-6 proved crucial as the Garden County beat neighbours Carlow at Dr Cullen Park yesterday to keep their slim promotion hopes alive.

In a sub-standard local derby in which both sides ended with 14 men, Wicklow held on for a two-point victory.
