Glynn master class keeps Wicklow flying high
Wicklow remain level on points at the top of the table after coming from behind to register a one-point victory at Pearse Park yesterday.
The visitors trailed by four points at half-time, but goals from Seanie Furlong and Leighton Glynn turned the game around.
Longford will be extremely disappointed with the outcome and the fact that they only scored 1-3 from play will be a huge concern for Glenn Ryan as his attention turns towards the championship.
Glynn produced a master class in point-scoring over the course of this entertaining contest and his personal tally of 1-3 was worth the admission fee on its own.
His partner in crime Furlong also had a fine day at the office, with his blistering runs and high fielding terrorising the Longford full-back line.
Ryan's charges dictated the exchanges in the first half and held a four-point cushion at the turnover. The Garden County, though, achieved parity on the restart kicking three points on the trot and the two goals in the latter stages sealed the points for Mick O'Dwyer's side.
