A splendid second-half performance from Longford earned them a comfortable victory over Offaly at Newtowncashel.

Longford 2-11 Offaly 0-9

Two second-half goals from the home side got their O'Byrne Cup campaign back on track with Liam Connerton and Darren Gallagher finding the net.

Denis Connerton's men turned things around after half-time and strong displays from Gallagher, and the returning Padraig and Sean McCormack, will please the manager.

The home side didn't have things all their own however and played catch-up for long periods of the first half.

The introduction of Dermot Brady settled the ship and dead-ball efforts from McCormack and Paddy Collum bridged the gap. After the break, Longford kicked on with points from McCormark and Gallagher's late goal sealed the win.
