Flynn and McCabe dismantle Louth challenge

Kildare 2-13 Louth 1-4

TWO goals in the space of a minute from Neil Flynn and Leon McCabe just before half-time in Hawkfield helped Kildare set up a semi-final date with Meath on January 14.

Kildare were already leading by 0-5 to 0-2 when Flynn rounded off a flowing team move with a neat finish two minutes before the break.

And McCabe repeated the trick less than a minute later when he spun and shot home after collecting Wayne Fitzpatrick's wayward shot.

The second half was something of a procession for the home side, with Fitzpatrick leading the way as they scored six of the first seven points after the change of ends.

Louth endured further hardship when they were reduced to 14 men six minutes from time when Wayne Campbell was shown a second yellow card.
