Fitzmaurice wields the axe as All-Ireland-winning captain is cut from Kerry panel - Report

Ex-Kerry captain Kieran O'Leary has been dropped from the Kerry panel as Eamonn Fitzmaurice looks to help his team rebound from their heavy league final defeat to Dublin last month.
The Irish Examiner is reporting that O'Leary, who was co-captain on the Kerry team that won the All-Ireland championship in 2014, has been cut from the team along with Pa Kilkenny, Jack Sherwood, Paul O’Sullivan and Aidan Walsh.
This will come as a big blow to O'Leary, who missed all of last summer's championship with a ruptured achilles tendon. Kerry start their 2016 campaign with a Munster semi-final in Killarney on June 12th against either Limerick or Clare.
This is the second cull of the day from a major inter-county team, with Mikey Conroy one of a number of Mayo players cut by Stephen Rochford, as reported by the Irish Independent.
