Evans, a former Kerry U21 team boss, famously guided his home club Laune Rangers to All-Ireland club glory back in 1996.

Evans landed three county titles with the Killorglin side in 1993, 1995 and 1996.

He has been handed a two-year term by Tipperary officials, with a review due to take place after the 2008 season.
