Eamon Burns confirmed as the new Down footballer manager

Eamon Burns has become the new manager of the Down senior footballers tonight.

He was ratified by clubs at a meeting which took place at he Burrendale Hotel in Newcastle.

The Bryansford clubman takes over from Jim McCorry who left his position after just a year in charge following a shock defeat to Wexford in the qualifiers.

Down will have new sponsors in 2016 also with EOS IT Management Solutions replacing Canal Court Hotel on the county jerseys.

James McCartan is the new minor boss for the Mourne county while Frank Dawson remains on as under-21 boss.
