Dundalk's Keane edge

Dundalk Colleges 1-8 Colaiste Mhuire 1-6

An unfortunate own goal from Colaiste Mhuire's Jason O'Toole proved key as Dundalk Colleges advanced to the quarter-finals.

There was never more than a point between the sides during the opening half-hour until Niall Hearty's 35-metre free-kick went over in the dying moments of the first half to put the visitors ahead by 0-5 to 0-3 at the break.

It remained nip and tuck until Colaiste Mhuire took the lead when Seanie Daly struck low to the Dundalk net, to put the home team ahead by two points. Four minutes later though, O'Toole deflected the ball into his own net.

Dundalk, featuring Michael Keane who notched up an impressive 0-4, were three points up in added-time when Daly's last-gasp shot for an equalising goal went over to leave the Louth side as worthy two-point victors.
