Doyle puts Antrim to the sword
Kildare 1-15 Antrim 0-9
Kildare will meet Leitrim in Newbridge on Saturday night in the next round of the All-Ireland SFC qualifiers after making no mistake at the second attempt to overcome Antrim at Casement Park last night.
Kildare's opening score arrived 10 minutes into the game when Ronan Sweeney slotted over. Sweeney's point was the first of three unanswered scores for the Leinster men with Eoghan O'Flaherty and John Doyle putting Kieran McGeeney's side two clear.
Antrim hit back through Kevin Brady and Cunningham. Kildare pounced, though, when Doyle found the back of the net for the game's only goal.
In the second half, another Doyle free put Kildare eight ahead before Cunningham stopped the rot for Antrim with another point from the dead ball.
A disappointing Antrim then strung together three scores through Herron and Cunningham but Doyle, Keith Cribben and Daryl Flynn saw out a comfortable win for Kildare.
