Delahunty leads Tipp surge
Charlie McGeever's Tipperary cut loose after half-time to blow away the Waterford challenge at Semple Stadium last night.
Tipperary 2-16 Waterford 1-7
The Premier County booked their place in the semi-finals in front of over 600 spectators in Thurles, as Jack Delahunty and Brendan Martin claimed second-half goals.
Tipp were just two points clear at half-time, 0-8 to 1-3 - they had to come from behind after Shane O'Meara's 26th-minute palmed effort was adjudged to have crossed the line.
Tipp's response was impressive as two points from Jack Kennedy and another from Tommy Nolan opened up an interval lead.
Delahunty pounced on a goalkeeping error for Tipp's first goal before sub Martin added a clinical second from Shane Power's pass as the home side pulled away to a comprehensive victory.
