Darragh Foley scored six second-half points as Carlow turned a three-point half-time deficit into a three-point victory at Aughrim.
Wicklow led by four points to one inside ten minutes and could have had a goal when Marc Lennon's shot rippled the side netting. They cut through the Carlow defence a couple of times in the first half but will rue their inability to convert their chances.
The Wicklow defence was also very mean in stopping the Carlow attack, regularly getting a hand in to regain possession.
John McGrath was clinical from frees and Wicklow led 10 points to seven at the break. Their cause was helped by Carlow's Brendan Murphy receiving a black card for pulling down Mark Kenny.
However, it was Carlow who bossed the second half and they scored seven points in a 25-minute period to a solitary Wicklow response. John Murphy pitched in with two of those crucial points from centre-forward as Wicklow never gained any momentum in the half.
Carlow secured their second win of the League, and coming out on top in such a tight game will boost their confidence.
For Wicklow it's a second successive defeat having won their opening two.
