Cunningham proves a point
Livewire attacker Paddy Cunningham led Cavan a merry dance as Antrim soared to the summit of Division 3.
Cunningham lit up a dank, foggy Breffni Park with some exquisite points from both play and frees to heap further pressure on Cavan boss Tom Carr.
The Blues were particularly off-colour in the second half during which time they were out-scored by 1-7 to 0-2.
Two goals inside four minutes lit the fuse for a frenetic end to the first half.
Tomas McCann's goal on the half-hour mark saw the visitors regain the lead but Raymond Galligan dived to fist a goal which edged Cavan into a 1-6 to 1-4 lead.
Antrim again rolled up their sleeves though and a point apiece from Cunningham and Michael McCann levelled matters at 1-6 each at the interval.
Gareth Smith opened the second-half scoring for Cavan but five unanswered points followed from Antrim with a gem in particular coming from half-back Tony Scullion.
Micheal Magill added salt to Cavan's gaping wound in the 61st minute when he fly-kicked the ball to the roof of the net from close range.
