Retired Kerry legend Colm Cooper will be a pundit on RTE's The Sunday Game this year.

GAA fans lamenting the loss of one of the gaelic games most skillful stars will at least have the benefit of his opinions and insight this summer.

The 33-year-old won eight All Stars, five All-Irelands, a club All-Ireland, nine Munster titles and four national league crowns in a glittering career with Kerry

In 145 games for the Kingdom, he scored 35-447. In his 85 Championship games, he scored a record 23-283.

He will appear alongside Henry Shefflin on the Ray D'Arcy Show on Saturday night.

It will be interesting to see if RTE decide to deploy Cooper alongside Joe Brolly after the Derry native suggested that the Gooch lacked a 'warrior personality' during his playing days.
