Coakley and Hurley lead Rebel rampage
Cork 3-18 Waterford 0-2
Cork thumped Waterford by 25 points in a Munster U-21 semi-final at Fraher Field last night.
Michael Hurley, Brian Coakley and Don O'Driscoll grabbed second-half goals for the rampant Rebels, who scored 3-15 from play.
It sets up a provincial final against Kerry on April 7. The overwhelmed Déise waited 48 minutes to lift their first white flag through Jason Curry.
Ryan Harkin got the scoreboard moving after just 29 seconds quickly followed by Don O'Driscoll, Michael Hurley and Brian Coakley.
A quick fire Coakley double and a Sean O'Donoghue single pushed them 0-8 to 0-0 clear at the half-time whistle. They were also guilty of nine wides.
The impressive Peter Kelleher continued the rout with his opening point before setting up a goal for Michael Hurley. Kelleher and Hurley then combined for Coakley to rustle the net. Don O'Driscoll tucked away a third after 46 minutes.
Subs Stephen Sherlock, Mick Dineen and Cian Dorgan all added points.
