Clynch grabs draw

MEATH 1-20
ARMAGH 2-17

A last-gasp pointed free from Stephen Clynch saved Meath from being on the receiving end of a huge upset at Pairc Tailteann yesterday.

Armagh held a slender advantage approaching the final whistle but in the sixth minute of added time Clynch popped over a free to force a dead-heat.

There were a massive 23 scores before the change of ends as Armagh led 2-10 to 1-10.

Kieran McKernan netted their first goal after 16 minutes but that strike was cancelled out by Peter Durnin who fired brilliantly to the roof of the net nine minutes later to level the scores at 1-7 each.

The visitors edged in front thanks to a fine goal from Ger Enright in the 32nd minute.

Points from John Corvan and Enright looked like sealing an Armagh victory but Clynch's effort ensured a share of the spoils.
