Castleknock continue remarkable rise as dominant performance books county semi-final place

Castleknock 2-14 Skerries Harps 0-10

Castleknock became the first team to book their place in the Dublin SFC semi-finals after a comprehensive ten point win over Skerries Harps at Parnell Park tonight.

Goals from Shane Boland and Mikey Galvin gave Castleknock some breathing space at the final whistle, with the first goal coming after 17 minutes following good interplay between Boland and Graham Hannigan.

That goal helped Castleknock build a 1-5 to 0-2 lead but a roaring comeback from Skerries saw them trail by just two at half time, 1-6 to 0-7.

The teams traded scores early in the second half before a brilliant point from Dublin star Ciaran Kilkenny, which was followed by Galvin's goal, saw Castleknock pull away and ease to a ten point victory.

Tonight's win continues the remarkable rise of the north Dublin outfit, who only became a senior club in the last few years.
