Cassidy's career ups and downs...

•He made his debut in 2002 and won an All Star award later that year (the county's first in nine years).

•In February 2010 he played his 100th game for Donegal against Laois in the league -- five months later he retired in pure frustration.

•He played on the losing Donegal team in the 1999 Ulster minor final replay.

•After playing in the 2002 Ulster final, he missed out on the 2004 and 2006 Ulster deciders (he was injured in 2004, and in the United States in 2006).

•Until now, 2007 was his most prolific year with Donegal's National League title the high point.

•Cassidy has played an inspirational role in Gweedore's revival with two championships and two Democrat Cup successes since 2002.

•Only a Sam Maguire title evades him now. Like Karl Lacey, he has had success in the NFL, Railway Cup, Sigerson Cup, Ulster SFC and an All-Star award.
