Casey stars as Tyrone get off to flyer

NEWLY promoted Tyrone got their league campaign off to a winning start with a 12-point win over Sligo at Healy Park.

Dungannon youngster Damien Casey marked an impressive debut with an eight-point haul, seven from from play, as the Red Hands coasted to an easy victory.

Goals from Sean Og Grogan and Shea McKiver helped the home side to a 2-11 to 0-5 interval lead.

But the Yeatsmen came out for the second half with intent, and staged a rousing comeback in the third quarter.

Keith Raymond and Damien Burke bagged goals to bring them back into the game, but Tyrone got back on track when substitue Rory O'Neill netted their third goal.
