Canty gets Cork call

CORK named captain Graham Canty and attacker Ciaran Sheehan in their starting team last night for Sunday's All-Ireland semi-final against Dublin, even though both are known to be doubtful and facing late fitness tests.

While it remains to be seen who will ultimately line out in the Rebels' centre-back and full-forward spots, manager Conor Counihan has made three other significant changes to the side that beat Roscommon.

John Miskella returns to beef up the defence at corner-back in place of Jamie O'Sullivan, Alan O'Connor replaces Derek Kavanagh at midfield and up front Donncha O'Connor gets a corner-forward spot in place of Colm O'Neill.

All three came off the bench last time out but Cork have still not risked starting Nicholas Murphy, another who made a big difference off the bench the last day but may not be ready for a full 70 minutes after coming back from a long-running back injury.

CORK (SF v Dublin) -- A Quirke; R Carey, M Shields, J Miskella; N O'Leary, G Canty, P Kissane; A O'Connor, A Walsh; P Kerrigan, P O'Neill, P Kelly; D Goulding, C Sheehan, D O'Connor.
