Boyle magic sets up Kingdom stroll
Kerry put a disappointing Waterford side to the sword at Austin Stack Park last evening without ever hitting top gear.
The only talking point of this uneven contest was the quality of the Kerry goals, with dual star Padraig Boyle -- an All-Ireland 'B' minor and U-21 hurling medal winner -- scoring two.
His opening goal was a real gem, when he dribbled soccer style through a forest of defenders before side-footing the ball to the net.
Kerry dominated at midfield with Gary O'Leary and Shaun Keane superb, but their attack was wasteful, kicking eight first-half wides.
Still, they led 2-6 to 0-4 at the break with Jamie Moriarty adding to Boyle's strike with a fine goal.
The second half was purely academic as Kerry added two late goals from Boyle and Thomas Hickey.
