Bellew puts Louth in command
Leinster JFC semi-final: Louth 1-18 Kildare 0-10
Louth booked their place in the Leinster junior final as they dismantled Kildare with a dominant second-half performance in Newbridge.
Cathal Bellew's goal 30 seconds after the restart gave the Wee County a six-point cushion which they never looked like relinquishing.
The opening 15 minutes saw both sides create a number of openings with a Robbie Curran free for Louth making it 0-3 apiece midway through the opening half. Further scores from Tadhg McEneaney, Dean Maguire and Niall Sharkey sent the Louth men in 0-9 to 0-6 ahead at the break.
The opening ten minutes of the second half couldn't have gone any worse for Kildare who conceded a goal almost immediately after the restart with captain Bellew finding the back of the net.
Louth quickly added on three further points to go nine clear as the game got away from the Lilywhites.
Any hope of a Kildare comeback ended after 40 minutes when midfielder Pascal Connell received a second yellow card.
It was a procession for Louth for the remaining 20 minutes as they sent over six scores to book a final place against Wexford or Laois.
