Banner run riot against dismal Westmeath
Clare 1-18 Westmeath 0-10

Clare picked up two valuable points in their quest for promotion as they routed basement boys Westmeath at Cusack Park, Ennis.
The 11-point winning margin was a fair representation of the gulf in class between the teams, as the visitors never threatened their opponents.
The hosts found themselves seven points to no score ahead after 23 minutes, laying down the path to victory early on.
Points from David Tubridy (3), Eoin Cleary (2), Cathal O'Connor and Pearse Lillis left the Lake County reeling in the opening half.
It took until the 27th minute for them to produce an opening score when substitute Shane Dempsey pointed from the left wing. John Heslin added two more to reduce the deficit, but a determined Clare raised three more white flags to make it 0-10 to 0-3 at the break.
Tubridy increased Clare's lead within moments of the restart. Westmeath did have a few well-taken scores, but the first half disaster had taken its toll.
Jamie Malone grabbed the only goal six minutes into the second half. The wing-back left two defenders in his wake before crashing the ball to net from close range.
Clare take on Offaly next weekend.
