Crossmaglen Rangers and Armagh have been dealt a serious blow with the news that star forward Jamie Clarke is heading to Spain and will miss the Armagh senior championship and the start of Armagh's 2015 campaign.

According to reports, Clarke has indicated that he will be away for nine months and is unlikely to feature in Crossmaglen's championship opener with Sarsfields on Sunday.

It will also be a blow to the new Armagh boss, believed to be Kieran McGeeney, with Clarke likely to miss a large portion of their Division Three campaign in the national league.
